Yasmin Al-Mutawa works mainly in watercolor and her art shows imagination, whimsy, and beauty. Much of her artwork is inspired by the forms, colors, and textures she experienced as a child living in the desert and along the shore of the Sea of Kuwait. She says, “My earliest memories are of walking along the beach in Sha’ab discovering sea life in tidal pools filled with tiny fish, crabs, and swirling seaweed.” Her creative vision brings these memories to life in enchanting colorful paintings full of movement and the rhythms of nature.
